The online portal for the Solicitors Family Law Association (SFLA), an association of over 5,000 solicitors which is best known for its work in handling divorces, separation and custody cases. It also campaigns for a cohabitation law which will accord cohabiting couples the same rights as married couples, such as inheritance rights, the right to live in a property and adoption. The site has helpful factsheets on many common areas of law, including issues around cohabitation. Users can search the site for members of the SFLA who specialise in writing cohabitation contracts and wills.

The London Partnerships Register

Set up by the Greater London Authority in 2002, the pioneering register is open to any same-sex or heterosexual couple where one partner is a London resident. Although registration does not automatically confer legal rights as marriage does, it may be used as additional evidence in any dispute or civil action that might arise.
