Part of the Tavistock & Portman NHS Trust. All referrals are from the NHS, and may be accepted from across the country, dependent on a service agreement being in place with the home health authority. Reasons for referral may include concerns about behaviour, development, emotional difficulties, or problems with relationships within the family. An initial assessment may be followed by individual, intensive, group or family therapy. Referrals to the Adolescent Department may be made by adolescents themselves, parents, GPs or other professionals. The department also provides the Young People's Counselling Service. This is a self-referral service, offering up to four meetings for adolescents and young adults aged 16-30 years.
