Addiction: Cannabis

What are the effects on the mind?

Dylan from The Magic Roundabout

The effects of the drug depend upon the mood and surroundings of the user as well as the amount taken. Desired effects include feelings of contentment, relaxation and happiness and some people may get the giggles. Other effects may include euphoria and altered space-time perception. Strangely, the tendency to say 'man' a lot occurs in all generations, as parodied in Dylan, the spaced-out rabbit in 'The Magic Roundabout'. Less desirable effects include impaired short-term memory and some people, particularly those taking high doses over a period of time, may feel quite edgy. The cognitive deficiencies seem to persist after withdrawal.
