What does it look like?

Heroin is nearly always found as a powder. In its purest form (diamorphine), this powder is white. However, the heroin most commonly used in the UK is brown, which accounts for heroin's common nickname 'brown sugar'. By the time it gets to street level, heroin has usually been cut with a variety of other powders, making it likely to be 25–45% pure. It's usually sold by the gram or part-gram in £10 or £5 bags or wraps (small paper packets), which contain about ¼ gram of heroin. |
