There's a litany of impacts starting off with interference in the performance of everyday function and ending with death at the other end of the scale. Lack of sexual performance is one side effect and it can lead to long-term impotence in heavily dependant male users. Chronic alcohol use damages just about every organ of the body but the biggest killers are heart, liver and stomach. Long-term usage is also associated with mental illness and even brain damage. The Government has stated that alcohol-related disease causes 22,000 premature deaths every year and accounts for 70% of all admissions to accident and emergency departments.
