AVID XPRESS PRO - PRINT TO TAPE

Once you have finished editing your film, and have compressed it for upload to FourDocs, then you are nearly finished the production process.

The last task is to put the film back on to video tape for easy, safe and convenient storage. You may opt to keep it stored on your hard drive, but video footage is bulky in file size and will fill up your drive quite quickly.

To export your film to tape you will need to connect your camera to the computer with the Firewire cable, ensuring that you have a blank tape in the camera and that it is switched to Play/VCR mode. Then start by selecting Clip from the menu bar and choose Digital Cut.

Ensure that Entire Sequence is ticked, and that Deck Control is set at Remote and Record Deck Time. Position the tape at the point you wish to record using the video control buttons, and then simply select record and allow the tape to capture your film. The tape will stop automatically when recording is finished. Remember to check the tape for record quality before you delete any of your project files.
