Smoked salmon on brown soda bread is an easy, and practically instant, starter. With the slight sourness of the soda bread, saltiness of the salmon and creaminess from the crème fraîche the tastebuds are tickled by this dish.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices Irish brown soda bread
  • 125g good-quality smoked salmon
  • Small tub of crème fraîche

Method: How to make smoked salmon on soda bread

Serve with celeriac soup for a rare treat.

1. Cut each slice of Irish brown soda bread into 2 halves. Take smoked salmon and top each slice of bread with a fold of salmon. Season with a little freshly ground black pepper, then top each with a little crème fraîche to serve.
