Try this Korean recipe for marinated beef short ribs from Sula, a Korean restaurant in New Malden

Ingredients

  • 1.2kg barbecue beef ribs

For the marinade:

  • 5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp sesame oil
  • 80g garlic
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 pear, finely diced
  • ½ onion, finely diced

Method: How to make Korean galbi

1. Combine the sauce ingredients.

2. Cover the meat with the mixture and refrigerate for a few hours in order for the meat to marinate.

3. Cook the ribs on the barbecue, ideally using charcoal rather than gas, until thoroughly cooked and hot right through.
