Get your meat on with a recipe from the men who know how to load a stick

Serves 2

Prep time 10 minutes, marinade for 12 hours

Cooking time 12-15 minutes depending on temperature

Ingredients

  • 500g beef chunks - rump
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 red onion
  • Approx 10g of butter

For the marinade

  • 15ml lemon juice
  • Few sprigs of rosemary chopped
  • Few sprigs of thyme chopped
  • Handful of fresh oregano chopped
  • 50ml vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves of peeled crushed garlic
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method: How to make butcher's skewers

1. Tenderise the beef chunks with a meat hammer. Then add vegetable oil, lemon juice, mixed herbs (rosemary, thyme, oregano), crushed garlic, salt and freshly ground black pepper.

2. Leave in the marinade for at least 12 hours in the fridge.

3. Then arrange beef chunks on the skewers with roughly chopped peppers and onion.

4. Cook on a clean, hot BBQ or griddle according to the temperature required. Brush with melted butter and finish.
