There's nothing like a plate of steaming hot food for forcing Cupid's hand and many a movie romance has been kick-started with a shared plate of pasta or the twin-slurp of a milkshake. So do it like in the movies. We've put together some classic film moments to help you spice up dinnertime this Valentine's Day.
The Film: Ratatouille
The Plot: A small town rat blessed with huge gourmet talent yearns to unleash his skills in the swankiest of Parisian kitchens. If only he could hold a spoon.
The Food: The resourceful rodent has a recipe repertoire Ramsay would be proud of but his signature dish is ratatouille.
What you'll need: A high class kitchen, a big hat, a rat who can cook and is pretty adept at human puppetry.
Ideal for: Kitchens with a pest problem, cooks that aren't ticklish and lovers not averse to hair in their food.
Pulling potential: Threat of disease aside everyone loves an underdog and the plucky little rodent certainly pulls on the heartstrings. But do you come clean to your loved one about who really cooked dinner? No one likes a liar but a dose of the plague can be a real passion killer.
