This chicken dish serves up a treat with rice and pitta bread

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breast fillets (skinless)
  • 1 red pepper
  • 2 medium onions
  • 2 tbsp of paprika
  • 8-12 bay leaves
  • 3 or 4 cloves of garlic
  • tin of chopped tomatoes
  • ½ pint of chicken stock
  • 90g of plain flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 carton of sour cream
  • chicken seasoning

Method: How to make a sizzle of chicken paprika

1. Preheat oven to 190°c.

2. Mix salt, pepper and chicken seasoning into plain flour. Coat each chicken fillet with seasoned flour and brown gently in frying pan with oil to seal.

Serving suggestion

Drizzle sour cream to taste onto chicken paprika when served. Serve with rice, pitta bread and salad.

3. Place fillets into casserole dish.

4. Slice onions and fry until golden brown. Slice red peppers into strips and add to onions. Add garlic. Add tomatoes, chicken stock, bay leaves and paprika to pan.

5. Mix gently whilst bringing to the boil.

6. Pour mixture into casserole dish, covering the chicken. Cook for 45 minutes - 1 hour in oven at 190°c. Stir occasionally.
