Scotch mist is more than just grim weather, it's a rather delicious pudding. Paul Ross puts it to the test for Celebrity Come Dine With Me.

Serves 5

Ingredients

  • 284ml carton double cream
  • 1-2 tbsp Scotch whisky
  • 5 meringue nests
  • 8 digestive biscuits
  • 25g toasted flaked almonds

Method: How to make Scotch mist

1. Whip the cream until soft peaks form and stir in a good slug of whisky to taste. Crumble over the meringues and fold in lightly.

2. Put the biscuits in a strong plastic bag and bash with a rolling pin until crushed into small pieces. Do not allow to become too powdery.

3. Sprinkle the biscuits into five chunky glasses or dessert dishes. Spoon the meringue and cream mixture on top. Chill for about an hour.

4. Sprinkle with the flaked almonds and serve.

Please note this recipe is the contestant's own and has not been tested professionally. Like the Come Dine With Me contestants, you could be creating a culinary delight or dining disaster, so switch on your ovens and be bold.
