Nancy makes a mountain of mains with this comfort food feast for her Celebrity Come Dine With Me dinner party

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 8 sausages - pork and apple or lemon and fennel
  • Potatoes
  • 2 tbsp bouillon
  • Butter
  • Cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Frozen garden peas

Method: How to make sausage and mash mountain

1. Cook the sausages as preferred. At the same time, boil the potatoes in the bouillon for about 20 minutes until soft to the point of a sharp knife. Place the peas in a pan of boiling water and cook until soft.

2. Drain the potatoes once soft, then put them back on the hob for about 3 minutes, to drain the excess water out.

3. Place the potatoes into a bowl, mash with butter, cream, salt and pepper to taste. Place the mash onto each plate, forming a 'mountain'.

4. Place the sausages on top of the mash and place the peas around the mash. Serve with a homemade tomato sauce such as this quick recipe.

Please note this recipe is the contestant's own and has not been tested professionally. Like the Come Dine With Me contestants, you could be creating a culinary delight or dining disaster, so switch on your ovens and be bold.
