Dave Ward hoped to be crowned king of Come Dine With Me Torbay with his king prawn and queenie scallop salad

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 50g garlic butter
  • 1 tsp sunflower oil
  • 6-8 raw king prawns, peeled
  • 10-12 raw small scallops, shelled
  • ½ plump red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Mixed salad leaves and lemon wedges, to serve

Method: How to make king prawn and Queenie scallop salad

1. Melt the butter with the oil in a medium heavy-based frying pan. Stir fry the prawns for a minute then add the scallops and cook over a fairly high heat for a further 2 minutes until the prawns are completely pink and the scallops are just cooked.

2. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the chill, if using. Serve the seafood hot over mixed salad leaves with lemon wedges for squeezing.

Please note this recipe is the contestant's own and has not been tested professionally. Like the Come Dine With Me contestants, you could be creating a culinary delight or dining disaster, so switch on your ovens and be bold.
