
Elizabeth served this power packed red meat and booze combo to her guests on Come Dine With Me Southampton
1. Heat the oil and butter in a large frying pan.
2. Chop the onions and slice the mushrooms, crush the garlic and add to the pan. Cook for about 10 minutes, until soft.
3. Add the port and the tomatoes and let it simmer for 15 minutes, topping up a little with more port, but let it reduce.
4. Heat more oil and butter in a large frying pan. Seal the steaks, then cook to each guest's taste. Drain excess oil away. Add the sauce to the pan, allowing about 2 tbsp per steak. Add a good splash of red wine to caramelise the sauce.
5. Cook for a couple of minutes and then add a swirl of cream. Cook for 1 minute more to warm through, then serve.
