Zara prepares her version of the classic Italian dessert, tiramisu, on Come Dine With Me Norwich

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 3 free range eggs, separated
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 250g mascarpone cheese, stirred until softened
  • 150ml freshly made coffee, cooled
  • 3 tbsp coffee liqueur
  • 28 sponge fingers
  • 50g finely grated plain dark chocolate

Method: How to make coffee liqueur tiramisu

1.Beat the egg yolks and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Fold in the softened mascarpone. Whisk the egg whites until stiff and fold gently into the mixture.

2. Stir the coffee liqueur into the coffee in shallow bowl and dip the fingers in the liquid one at a time. Place a layer of the coffee-dipped fingers in a serving dish, top with some of the mascarpone cream.

Note:

This recipe contains raw eggs.

3. Continue the layers until all the fingers are used, ending with a mascarpone cream topping. Sprinkle with the grated chocolate and chill for at least 6-8 hours before serving.
