Get a spicy, green kick from this guacamole dip recipe.

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 2 avocados, peeled, pitted and quartered
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tsp/10ml)
  • 1 small tomato, seeded and finely diced
  • 1 ½ tsp freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped, optional
  • ½ tsp hot pepper sauce, or to taste
  • salt and freshly ground pepper

Method: How to make chunky guacamole

1. In a bowl, using a fork or potato masher, mash the avocados until the desired consistency is reached. Add garlic, tomato, lime juice, jalapeno pepper if using, and hot pepper sauce.

2. Mix well and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Serve immediately or cover and chill. Guacamole is best eaten within a day.
