Slap a dollop of Welsh vanilla ice cream next to this pud and you're laughing

Ingredients

  • 5 thick slices of brioche
  • butter for spreading
  • handful of raisins
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 large pot single cream
  • 1½ pints full fat milk
  • Welsh whiskey
  • vanilla ice cream to serve

Method: How to make bread and butter pudding

1. Preheat oven to 180°c.

2. Cut five thick slices of Brioche or other sweet bread. Butter each slice on one side only and place butter side down in individual oven proof bowls. Sprinkle raisins over each of the bowls.

3. Take two egg yolks and whisk together with single cream into a pint and a half of full fat milk. Finally add in one spoonful of Welsh whisky and pour the mix evenly over the slices of bread.

4. Put in the oven at 180°c for 10 minutes. Serve on plate then add one scoop of Welsh vanilla ice cream.
