Angus Thirwell co-founded Hotel Chocolat over a decade ago after deciding do something about the lack of quality chocolate available in Britain. Relying on a small cocoa growing estate such as Rabot in the West Indian island of St Lucia ensures their beans are of the highest quality and consumers support local farming jobs.
It's paid off: Hotel Chocolat now boasts stores across the country, a popular chocolate tasting club and a royal visit to the St Lucia plantation.
Angus and Andy Simpson, one of Hotel Chocolat's chocolatiers have come up with a fantastic, cocoa-rich menu to inspire a romantic dinner for two.

Truffles, liqueurs and a flame: what more could you want?
We've asked Angus to nominate some ideal guests for his dinner party. Angus said, "I have become obsessed with the antics of an amazing group of friends; the late 17th century industrialists, scientists and dreamers featured in Jenny Uglow's historical epic 'The Lunar Men: The Friends Who Made the Future'... Their group was called the Lunar Society as they met on the Monday nearest each full moon (so they had enough light to get home in the evening)."
"I would have to invite them to find out more."
