Pass these nuts around your friends at a drinks party - they're a great snack recipe, and they only take five minutes to make.

Serves 4 as a nibble
Takes 5 minutes to make, 10 minutes to bake, plus cooling

Ingredients

  • 350g mixed nuts
  • 1 free-range egg white
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 8 cardamom pods, seeds removed and crushed

Method: How to make caribbean spiced nuts

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/fan180°C/gas 6. In a small bowl, mix the nuts with the egg white.

2. Mix together the sugar and spices, then scatter over the nuts. Mix well and spread out on a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool completely, then serve in bowls.
