They say there is no such thing as a free lunch, but former Masterchef winner Tommi Miers and adventurer Guy Grieve disagree.

Proving that the British landscape can be as productive as any shop or market, Tommi and Guy travel across the UK on a mission to show that foraging for wild food is not just about eating grubs and stinging nettles.

As they deal with uncertain weather, demanding terrain and some beautiful landscapes, their adventure puts them through challenges that they have to conquer at all costs.

In their travels, Tommi and Guy hunt, shoot, fish and forage for some of the best wild food this country has to offer, which they turn into gastronomic feasts to die for.

From freshly caught fish and seafood, game birds such as Yorkshire grouse, to the greenest leaves and the finest meats including Scottish venison, our wild gourmets show how a bit of knowledge can turn a weekend country walk into a joyful, culinary adventure that yields surprising and stunningly edible results.

  1. LOVE LOVE LOVE this show! It's so unlike anything else on TV! The English countryside is picturesque and the idea of not paying for anything you eat is just so romantic! Those two presenters are GORGEOUS and hilarious! I love everything about this show! I'm hanging out with baited breath for the DVD release. Please please please release a DVD, this show is BRILLIANT!

  2. I'm also hoping for a DVD release! I really wanted to give it to my Dad for Christmas, but then found out that a DVD hadn't been released yet :( Will a DVD be released? And if so, when will it be available in Australia? Thanks.

  5. Thank you guys for producing one of the best cooking show yet. Not for the faint stomachs , but for the real connoisseurs of the nature. After all, that's how we got here...sorry Vegs, this is the real , and so creative, as well, presentation of how we lived for, let's say last 20k years. What I really like here is that the nature is nurtured properly, and according to Darwin (hail 200 years of him this week). Like the Guy's attitude and Tommasina's beautiful subtleness. Hope to see more! Check our Canadian, or should I say Quebec version: The Wild Chef...thoese guys are hilarious and, boy if they can make their hands in grease to bring you the best: http://www.foodtv.ca/ontv/titledetails.aspx?titleid=120384&Category=MZ Thank you!

  8. As I am interested in bushcraft I watched this but I was fairly appalled by an attitude that pervaded this show - suggesting that nature is just one big larder which we can all go and feed from. There was no sense of even the least respect for wildlife or even any questioning of the sustainability or environmental impact of wholesale foraging and hunting by a large section of the UK population - it's all just one big free meal.
