Beware labelling with terms such as 'outdoor reared' and 'outdoor bred' - they're marketing terms with no legal definition. The RSPCA's own standards come under their 'Freedom Food' label. You might imagine they would champion having all pigs live muddy, happy outdoor lives but they recognise that millions will only ever have an 'intensive' indoor existence. What the RSCPA does ensure is that these pigs have a life that is as comfortable as possible, one that provides stimulation and allows natural instincts to develop.
