I'm amazed at the size of the two week old chickens in the trailer. I'm currently raising my own hens from day old chicks and they're now 5 weeks old - and they're the same size as the two week old factory farmed birds! Mine are free to roam and scratch and eat only kitchen scraps, grain and whatever they can forage. Thanks for helping to make more people aware of the benefits (to both humans and birds) of free range.
I have recently rehomed 4 ex-battery hens. At the moment they are missing most of their feathers, have large floppy combs and almost no muscles in their legs but they are improving at an amazing speed. Everyone who buys free range or supports hugh's campaign should consider doing this, it is SO rewarding! Now they are allowed to roam around and see the sunlight and eat apple sponge cake and other treats and they love it! And in return i get 2-3 fresh free range eggs every day that taste delicious, they are superior even to supermarket free range eggs!
Hi Mr. Hugh, I have a peptic ulcer since 10 years that cause me severe stomach discomfort after meals (if I didn't get my Nexium tab ahead). 2 years ago I discovered that consuming healthy food (free range chicken), the digestion process is completely balanced withoyt geting any medications. The sme happened with all other commercially manipulted food (meat, vegetables and fruit).Believe it or not;now I'm a living indictor who can define any commecially manipulated food within 3 and half an hour after eating. Thank you for your efforts to disclose this disaster. I know it won't be easy mission but trying to direct attention to this disaster is a must to help our love ones. In my case even my closely related individuals only appreciate the logics but can't believe it for sure because they don't feel what I experience simply for one reason: Their stomach are still healthy thus not sensitive to differentiate between different qualities.
Thank you hugh for what you have done for chickens. I now ONLY buy free range. Everyone should and instead of having battery chicken 2/3 times a week have free range once a week
