5. A Whiting Christmas
5. A Whiting Christmas (Image 5 of 8)
Hugh's taking the kids out on a boat to catch their supper and they're hoping to fish up some winter whiting.
"What are we going to make?" asks Hugh. "Fish fingers," cry the kids. Captain Birdseye eat your heart out. With a tasty bait of mackerel and squid the whiting are soon biting and the kids have reeled in a mammoth catch.
It's time for some fresh fish fingers or, judging by the width of Hugh's pieces, fish thumbs. A mixture of fresh and dried breadcrumbs goes to give the fingers extra crunch and side orders of mushy peas and ketchup rounds off the delicious meal. Hugh's even conjured up a festive treat by sculpting his fishy dish into the shape of a Christmas tree.
