As you'd expect, the gift giving at River Cottage has a strictly homemade ethic. The whole gang are charged with conjuring up a festive, homemade gift, the receipt of which will be determined by the draw from a hat.
Everyone has their own interpretation of the challenge and John and Steve head out to look for some wild and wonderful ingredients. "There are still mushrooms around," suggests John, "and I think somebody would be really appreciative of some mushrooms." "Who?" comes Steve's understandable reply.
Still on the foraging trail, Steve thinks booze would be a better gift and so the pair pick up some fennel seeds to infuse into vodka. "It's like we've waltzed into some foraging cocktail bar," sighs Steve. With alexander and rosehip in the bag the pair are all set for some tricolore vodkas.
