Back in Bristol, the farmers on Bramble Farm have been rearing chickens ready to eat. The day of reckoning has arrived but no-one is looking forward to it. Will the first-time farmers be able to pluck up courage for the kill?
River Cottage's Richard is on hand to make sure the chickens meet their end as humanely as possible as, one by one, the smallholders step up to wring the birds' necks. It's a grizzly task and everyone is relieved when it's over. Especially as there's barbecue chicken for tea.
