The foragers among you can go mushroom hunting until the first hard frost and, since we've had an Indian summer, there's still plenty of fungi out there. But be warned, picking a wrong 'un could leave you with a very poorly tum.
Hugh's foraging pal, John, gives Hugh a taste of the nasty 'shrooms.
"Don't try this at home!" Hugh says. "It's making the tip of my tongue go numb."
"It does that," says John.
With fungal dangers avoided, the pair hunt for more palatable picks. They pluck a basket load of hedgehog fungus and a few winter chanterelles, which Hugh transforms in to a tasty lunch of mixed mushroom tart.
