Hugh wants to prove strawberries are not just for puddings so he enlists Tim and Gill in a challenge to make strawberry canapés
It's hit and miss; "Blue cheese and strawberry - not wholly pleasant." Grimaces Tim. "Strawberry and cream works but strawberry and salad cream absolutely disgusting." Admits Gill.
Finally the brave chefs hit on their winning combos. Hugh's offering is strawberry and peanut butter, Tim creates more-ish mouthfuls of strawberry, mint and cured ham and hot smoked strawberries and goat's curd crostini while Gill reinvents savoury sauce with a spicy, sweet strawberry ketchup.
The treats are washed down with scrumptious summer cocktails, strawberry bellini, strawberry daiquiri and a strawberry version of kir royale, all made with the gorse wine Hugh made earlier in the year.
It's a strawberry feast - and the summer has only just begun.
