Stamford, Connecticut, boasts an excess of eateries all competing for the neighbourhood trade. Italian restaurant, Sabatiello's, has been open for three years but a dearth of diners means it's just months away from closing.
Self-assured Sammy's been making pizzas since he was eight years old and he can't understand why the customers are staying away as he's confident his cooking is the best in town. "I don't know why people aren't eating here, the food is good," he insists.
But to the rest of the staff the problem is clear. "The nightmare at Sabatiello's?" muses head waiter, David. "It's Sammy." The overpowering owner is constantly criticising his staff and cutting corners to drive down costs. "If Sammy doesn't change it won't make it another year," says David. Can Gordon make Sammy see sense?
