Gordon's not impressed by Brian's lack of passion and questions his commitment to the business. "When was the last time you made a decision?" Grills Gordon. "I made a special - a turkey panini," bites back Brian.
It's Valentines Day evening and the restaurant is busy. Gordon is keen to see the team in action but it's clear from the off, this is no tightly run ship. Some starters have been waiting to go out for nearly 20 minutes. "Ah, I didn't hit the bell," sighs Brian nonplussed.
Gordon is dismayed at Brian's apathy but the relaxed owner can't see what the problem is.
"Chef Ramsay telling us we do things the wrong way doesn't really work for me," sighs Brian." Well you better get used to it.
Gordon has a hunt around the kitchen and is pretty disturbed by what he finds. Week-old puddings, dirty lettuce and an out-of-date shrimp dish left to fester next to the desserts. Gordon's getting more furious by the minute. "Take me down to the fridge," he demands.
