Hannah and Mason's is a quaint little bistro in the quiet town of Cranberry, just an hour outside Manhattan. Co-owners, Chris and Brian, bought the place from their former bosses and have been running it together ever since. However, the workload is far from equal.
"Looking back now I don't think I would go into business with Brian," muses Chris who takes on the lion's share of the work. Brian admits he's pretty laid back but the staff describe him a different way: "Brian can be lazy," "Brian's very lazy," "Brian needs to step up a lot," are a snapshot of opinions.
The restaurant is only open three nights a week and even those are a stretch for Brian who doesn't like working nights. Despite disappointing takings, he refuses to accept they're losing business.
But with bills piling up, the staff are less easily convinced and, as their pay cheques begin to bounce, waitress Marie is worrying how she will support her daughter.
