As well as halving the menu's offering, Gordon has drafted in four professional chefs to give the kitchen staff tuition. Everyone is nervous and feeling the pressure to give it their all.
The night starts well but with Gordon adamant that standards don't slip, the kitchen struggles to cope with the onslaught of orders.
Customers are getting tetchy about their lengthy wait so John heads front of house to try his hand at some damage control. "It's late and I'm tired and I'm hungry," pleads one desperate diner. "John, I need some food."
John's feeling the pressure to hurry things along but Gordon is adamant the food can't be rushed. "Tonight is too important to f**k it up," Gordon insists.
