In New York's Babylon, Gordon sat down and nearly wept when he encountered Peter's. Owner Tina was on the brink of bankruptcy, driven to distraction by her failing restaurant and deadweight brother and manager, Peter.
"I want to cry or commit bloody murder," she admitted.
The kitchen was a joke. The hobs didn't work, the fridge didn't work and the vegetables had been sitting around so long, they'd started to sprout. Only one oven worked and Peter was not stepping up to handle the situation. "Instead of buying a stove, I bought a suit," he laughed.
When Gordon tasted the menu he quickly pronounced it the worst Italian food he's ever tasted. "It's like baby food inside gunk."
But things took a serious turn when a debt collector arrived and Peter responded by trying to attack him. Gordon was forced to give the big problem a reality check and found himself a new fan. "My first son is going to be named after him," gushed Peter "Gordon Ramsay Pellegrino."
