Hell hath no fury like an angry chef, and no chef has a sharper temper than Gordon Ramsay when things go wrong in the kitchen.

Now Gordon has taken Kitchen Nightmares across America, giving some of the worst restaurants Stateside a wake-up call they'll never forget. The venue for tonight's programme is Peter's Italian Restaurant in Babylon, New York where the peace of Long Island shore is regularly shattered by the antics of the volatile Pellegrino family, who run the restaurant. Hard-working Tina owns the joint but the behaviour of her tyrannical brother, front-of-house manager and one-man pressure cooker Peter regularly threatens to undermine its reputation and the morale of everyone who works there. The staff are ready to walk, the food's a disaster and the place is on the verge of collapse.

Enter Gordon, whose recipe for reversing the restaurant's disastrous reputation sets him on a collision course with Peter. Can he force him to curb his violent temper and commit to saving the business, or is it doomed?

  3. I love love love Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares, especially in the USA, its so entertaining and eye opening and he does a brilliant job of turning around staff, bad habits, and the business as a whole its a truly wonderful thing to watch. I have lived recently in New Jersey for 2 yrs and can see the arrogance of a lot of the restauranters and its scary how they think they can serve up sloppy food and give bad service, Gordon really opens their eyes and kicks their butts, its great. With the USA relying on their family dining out and eat out ethics its hard to see how these establishments are so bad, they really should all watch Gordon and turn themselves around for the good of the business.
