The credit crunch has hit the nation hard meaning more and more of us are tightening our purse strings and cutting back on little luxuries. This spells bad news for hundreds of independent restaurants across the UK.

Times are so tough, even Gordon's feeling the pinch. He's heading to Sheffield to see if he can bring his restaurant-saving tactics to the aid of friends, Justin and Rich, and their topsy-turvy tapas restaurant.

First impressions are not good. The restaurant is dark and empty and its staff are at each other's throats. Gordon's got his work cut out with these likely lads.
"The place looks like a lap-dancing hole," he grumbles. "The only thing missing here is Peter Stringfellow."

The food's not up to much either. The rice is dry, the squid is dry and the meat looks suspiciously like it's been reheated.
"It's an embarrassment to Spain," moans ambassador Ramsay.
