On paper, a bistro in a thriving tourist town should be a winning formula but when Gordon tries Mick's food, it's easy to see where the restaurant is running aground.
On the menu is duck à la orange squash and a lamb shank that has been pre-cooked and so pumped full of chemicals, it's got a shelf-life of a year. For the first time in 21 years of cooking, Gordon refuses to try a dish.
"It's got to be safe or they wouldn't sell it," argues Mick, but Gordon's disgusted. On its menus Mick's bistro promises freshly cooked food with a commitment to quality. Gordon thinks Mick is failing his customers and destroying his family.
