The group's failing enthusiasm is beginning to get Jamie down and he's worried the project will end it failure. He heads over to culinary convert, Mick's, house to see the good his lessons are doing. "I've been sat on the floor of the pit with five miners talking about recipes," says Mick, looking a bit bewildered by his own enthusiasm.
And his wife seems equally chuffed: "He cooks five times a week," she says beaming over her plate of pasta in bacon and pea sauce with pride. Jamie leaves Mick's house buoyed up - not least because of the good feed. "In 10 years you are the fifth person to cook for me in their house," says Jamie. "So thank you."
But it's not all harmony in the kitchen. Jamie receives reports of bickering and bad feeling in his classroom and is told at least four of his budding beginners are ready to drop out. If the project is going to succeed Jamie needs to swap his olive oil for an olive branch and get his students back on side.
