In episode 2, Jamie accompanied Clare for a scan where she discovered she had a baby on the way. Now it's time for her 20 week check up and Jamie tags along to see how she's doing. It's a little boy and Clare vows to name him Jamie, or Oliver as a dedication to Jamie. "I think your boy did all the hard work," says Jamie, patting Clare's partner on the back. Oh Jamie, modest as ever.
But before he can leave the hospital two doctors drag Jamie away to show him a shocking sight. Rotherham's obesity problem costs NHS a fortune and a large portion of the money pot goes on supersize beds. They are ginormous and cost the hospital £66,000 each.
The doctors tell Jamie that the situation is critical and that the NHS cannot cope for much longer. "I'm not being sensationalist," says a shocked Jamie. "This is reality. If we're not careful most of our children, when they're 40, will be sitting here in supersized beds."
