For decades, recipes and cooking know-how was passed down from one generation to the next, but somehow the chain got broken. Jamie's looking for a way to get that momentum going again. And he thinks he might have cracked it.
"If we get mates teaching mates, instead of mums teaching children, we've got a modern day solution," he suggests.
Eureka!
If every one of his newbie cooks teaches two friends and they pass their skills on to two more friends, within fifteen steps, 260,000 people will know how to cook.
It seems perfect, but Julie's not convinced.
"They're on benefits," she reminds Jamie, "who's going to pay for the ingredients for them to teach other people? You're living in a bubble."
