
There are some excellent pumpkins available for home growing that come in a range of sizes to suit your own needs.
Produces large, yellow-skinned fruits weighing up to 7kg (15lb) that quickly turn an attractive orange. Spineless dark green stalks make pruning easy. Harvest from late August onwards.
An outstanding variety with grapefruit-sized fruits that have a nutty flavour and store extremely well. The compact semi-bush shape makes the plants ideal for smaller plots. Can be harvested from late summer.
A must if you want to enter a giant pumpkin competition, it has produced monster fruits weighing more than 270kg (600lb). Even if you don't want a record breaker, the pumpkins are delicious and good keepers.
