Varieties to try

There are lots of rhubarb varieties that are easy to grow and some of the best include:

Champagne

An early variety with sweet-tasting pink-tinged stems.

Fultons Strawberry Surprise

A vigorous grower with vivid red colouring.

Stockbridge Arrow

An early, largely trouble-free variety that has a long cropping season and produces tender red-pink stems.

Timperley Early

A flavoursome pink-stemmed type which is perfect for forcing or normal cropping.
