It's very simple to produce cabbages for use throughout the year by growing a wide selection of varieties, such as:

Pixie

A compact and early maturing spring cabbage with strong hearts and mid-green leaves.

Greyhound

A summer cabbage with quality pointed hearts and it is ideal for smaller plots.

Sherwood

An autumn cabbage with sweetly-flavoured dark-green leaves.

Robin

A winter cabbage which is very hardy and can be harvested throughout the colder months.

Clarissa

A Savoy cabbage with crisp, blue-green leaves. It should be treated and grown as a winter cabbage but can be harvested from early autumn onwards.

Red Rookie

An early-maturing and sweet-tasting, red-leaved type that should be grown as a summer variety.
