The Romans and Heston Blumenthal have a lot in common. "[The Roman Empire] was exciting, it was theatrical, it was extreme," explains the mad cap chef. And Heston is certainly all of these.
Dishes served at the Roman table included eyebrow raising ingredients such as flamingos, sows' wombs, parrot tongues and jellyfish so Heston's got plenty of scope for an interesting dinner.
And the guest list promises an interesting mix too as the Marquess of Bath joins actress Greta Scacchi, comedians, Alexander Armstrong and Danny Wallace, food critic, Matthew Fort and TV presenter, Lisa Butcher.
Alexander Armstrong is expecting grapes to be dangled into his mouth but Heston's being far more ambitious with pig's nipples, cow brain custard and ejaculating puddings on the menu.
