Heston Blumenthal is known for his mind-bending menus where food and science combine with delicious consequences: "I want to create meals that are a delicious spectacle, where every bite is a delight to the senses."
Now he's cooking his way through history and raising recipes from the dead on a surreal and spectacular gastronomic journey.
First stop the Victorian period - the age of invention and right mucky pups with a penchant for opium and ladies of the night.
Heston will be cooking up extreme edibles inspired by the crazy Victorians for his celebrity guests; Jemma Redgrave, Dawn Porter, Rageh Omaar, Richard Bacon, Toby Young and Kathy Lette. On the menu; insects, a hallucinogenic jelly and a crazy concoction straight from the pages of Alice in Wonderland.
"It's a magical drink that never existed - that's like a red rag to a bull to me," chips Heston.
