Heston's Little Chef was a hit with the food critics, but it is the hungry travellers that Heston really has to please, if he's to convince Ian Pegler that quality dishes and musical loos are the chain's future.
The signs are optimistic, as Heston arrives to a full car park. One happy customer even dashes across the forecourt to shake Heston's hand and thank him for the ox cheeks.

Inside the restaurant there are plenty of customers, but a few old friends are missing - Heston's sauces have gone AWOL. In their place - Bisto.
"Holy shit! What is that doing here?" shouts Heston's head chef Ashley, digging out a bag of oven chips.
High quality ingredients were at the heart of Heston's vision for Little Chef. These discoveries are a frustrating blow.
"I know there's a bit of a tussle coming up with Ian," he says, "because this food is not good enough."
