  3. Gok you truly touched a part of me in the documentary. We live in a society were the Steortypical image is Size 0. I've had weight issues for the last number of years. Even though I'm only a size 14/16. I still fell that I need to conform to this image. For the fist time in my life I have realised that my unhappiness has been the result of my weight. I was wondering how did you loose all your weight so quickly and keep it off? Your an amazing person to admit and tell your story of when you were bigger and our society needs more people like you to say that yes, you've got weight but you dont need to resort to surgery. I just hate going to shop for clothes. Nothing ever fits and it makes me so down.

  4. At 14 i was 16 stone by 16 i had hit 18 stone... I watched the programme last night and was shocked to see that Gok Wan had actually been a man in a simliar predicament as myself. I am now 20 and i weight 14 stone and am starting bodybuilding competitions. I went down to 10 stone and working my way back up over the last 4 years however i still see that fat teenager in the mirror. I was bullied and girls never took an interest in me until i was about 19. People think that fat is not really a male issue but it is a massive issue when it comes to being confident enough to open up to life and do things for yourself. Being fat it made me not want to do anything and i sat in my bedroom all day everyday. My wake up call was when i finally realised i was good at a particular sport. Otherwise i think id have een in the mid 20 stone range by now. The programme really took me down memory lane and i was thinking the same things as Gok the whole way through the show... It was great to see this on air and i wish the best to everyone out there that wishes to lose there weight..

  5. Please pass on my best wishes to the young lad who had reached 30 stone. He should be very proud of himself for articulating how he feels about his weight, so well, on national television. Good luck with losing weight.Life can be fantastic and it seems a shame you are missing out on alot of it. I had a weight problem as a child/teenager and remember it to be such a hard time. Take each hour of each day at a time and beleive that each time you resist overeating it really is making a difference. All the best.

  6. This was a very honest documentary and fantastic thast Gok had the courage to expose himself as a "fatty". I am sure there were many young people and adults watching this programme who are a bit overweight if not downright fat. The programme must have really encouraged them as the beautiful Gok who is a syle guru and image adviser to us all thru the media and his link with Dot perkins, told us that once I didn't look that good but do you know what I did something about it. Very inspiring. I have a beautiful dauighter who carries some weight. I know it gets her down sometimes and I aam sure she would love to be slim like her friends and look fab in whatever she wears without the thought" do i look fat in this". I hope that seeing your programme encourages her to try and do something to loose that weight and to believe she can do it. I have weight that goes up and down depending on how much i am indulging myself in the luxury of all the yummies we love.MMMM Size 6 to size 16 i have been. Am a 14 at present and was intending to shift the pounds anyway but gok has really motivated me to make sure I do. Thanks Gok for a taking the risk and going thru the painfull self exposure. your past cant hurt you now. it has made you the lovely man you are. Well donw!!!!

  7. Hi. Thanks to Gok for this film. So much different from some of the shock-tactic documentaries. I have a question for Gok, hoping he'll read this. You lost a lot of weight in a very short time years ago. What is your way to keep the pounds off? Reason for asking is that the dieting is almost the easiest part, whereas sustaining seems to be really difficult. Thanks. Pete

  8. Am watching this programme at the moment. Why do I have to put up with music being played over the interviewee speaking. A good programme being spoilt by this.
