There are 12,000 Indian restaurants in Britain, most of whom sell firm curry favourites made with chicken or lamb. Gordon wants to broaden these meat horizons by spicing up some Scottish deer in a venison tikka masala.
Heading to Scotland to bag a worthy beast Gordon enlists the help of Muslim hunter Mo and expert tracker Jim who've promised to find him the finest wild deer.
"Ready?" ask Jim. "I was born ready," boasts Gordon but it takes two days before he manages to bring down a deer. Mo teaches the chef how to slaughter the deer halal style then leaves Gordon to work his magic on the venison masala.
"Venison is a wonderfully rich gamey ingredient that's the perfect match for spicy flavours," explains Gordon while Mo and Jim merrily tuck in. "If that's not worth 6 hours pissing around in the bushes, I don't know what is," sighs the worn out chef.
