Britain has never been coy about its love for curry and the nation's Indian restaurants received hundreds of nominations from F Word viewers.
The F Word's team of tasters scoured the country eating in curry houses from London to Leeds, sampling authentic flavours and dodgy décor until hitting on two diverse diners in Cheltenham and Birmingham.
Curry Corner in Cheltenham is one of the oldest Bangladeshi restaurants in Britain and head chef, Shamsul Krori, is still going strong at 60. "He's been cooking for 42 years," says Gordon impressed, "that's before I was f**king born."
Birmingham's Lasan restaurant, however, takes a less traditional approach to its curried creations with head chef, Aktar Islam, buying the restaurant when he was only 22. "I love his arrogance because he reminds me; very similar to myself 15 years ago," sighs Gordon proudly.
