It turns out you love your Italian restaurants - more than 600 of them were nominated (see them on the F Word map). Gordon has hunted all over Britain to whittle the contenders down to the top two who will fight it out in the F Word kitchen.
Up in Leeds Salvo's family restaurant has been packing in the punters since 1976. Started by Salvo and run by his sons John and Gyp, the eatery is a celebration of family values.
"Really the restaurant is about feeling welcome, feeling that you've arrived home," the chaps explain, "we're about showing our passion for Southern Italian food and Southern Italian hospitality."
Gordon's verdict? "They'd give a lot of Italian chefs in London a run for their money."
In Bristol, Venetian chef, Diego Da Re, has been creating elegant cuisine in the tiny kitchen of his restaurant, Prosecco, for three years.
"Diego is too good looking to be a chef," says Gordon, polishing off some ravioli. "Thank God I'm not having lunch with my wife - she'd go mad for him!"
