6. From politics to pie

"We've always had blind tasters but tonight I've got a blind cook," says Gordon as he's joined in the F Word kitchen by former Home Secretary David Blunkett for a shepherd's pie cook off. David's hoping his secret ingredient of Sheffield's delicacy, Henderson's relish, will win him the popular vote.
David's used to the silver tongued tactics of politics so he won't be easily intimidated by Gordon's bullish barbs.
"You're distracting me," says David as Gordon fires questions at him, "you're a great distracter. Is that part of the technique?"
He's happy to spill the beans on food in the corridors of power though.
"What's Tony Blair's favourite food?" asks Gordon.
"They didn't eat that well," says David, "they had a lot of takeaways. He could afford to eat well but that's not the same thing as eating well."
Save it for the book David.
After canvassing opinions from the tasters, Gordon's shepherd's pie is voted the winner.
"I'm pleased for you," says a magnanimous David, "your job's at stake and mine isn't."
